Hillingdon Council has secured two closure orders this month in response to shocking incidents of anti-social behaviour, crime, and drug use at local properties.

Uxbridge magistrates issued the orders under Section 80 of the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014. The first order, granted on August 7, targets a council-owned property in Uxbridge plagued by a string of serious problems, including a stabbing, drug dealing, noise disturbances, and fly-tipping.

For the next three months, the properties are off-limits to everyone except the landlord, police, emergency services, and utility workers. Anyone else found on the premises could face fines or jail time.

Cllr Eddie Lavery, Cabinet Member for Residents' Services, commented, “These are isolated incidents, but persistent anti-social behaviour can cause significant distress to the community.”
