Police appeal for information following serious assault in Uxbridge

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police are appealing for witnesses to share any information regarding assault that took place in Uxbridge on Wednesday.


The victims injuries where deemed serious enough for London's Air ambulance to be scrambled.


Police received a call to Vine Lane Uxbridge at on Wednesday, 27 January at around 6.15pm following reports of a fight.


Officers from the Metropolitan Police and London Ambulance Service attended along with London Air Ambulance. A 52-year-old man was treated at the scene by medics before being taken to a hospital in London. He remains in a critical condition.


A 51-year-old man named by police as Suspect A was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. The male was taken into police custody and interviewed before being released on bail with a condition to return in late February.


Detective Constable Benazir Bhati, from West Area Command CID, said:

“We are appealing to the public for more details about this incident. I urge anyone who witnessed the assault, or who has information, and in particular mobile phone footage, to come forward and speak with police if they have not already done so.”
