Onkar Sahota Re-elected as Ealing and Hillingdon's London Assembly Representative

Labour’s Onkar Sahota has been re-elected as the Ealing and Hillingdon member of the London Assembly with 41% of the popular vote.

The Conservative party candidate, Gregory James Stafford, came a close second with 37% of the vote whilst the Green candidate, Marijn Cecile Van De Geer, came an impressive third on 11%.

This will be Sahota’s third term as London Assembly representative for Ealing and Hillingdon. Sahota was first elected in 2012 before being re-elected in 2016 with an increased majority.

The London Assembly is a 25-member elected body that scrutinises the activities of the Mayor of London and has the power, with a two-thirds super-majority, to reject the Mayor's draft statutory strategies and amend the Mayor's annual budget.
