New Mayor of Hillingdon chooses Charities

The new Mayor of Hillingdon, Councillor Roy Chamdal, has chosen the Navratri Garba and Domestic Abuse Survivors (DAS) as his chosen charities.

Cllr Chamdal chose the Navratri Garba, which provides free food to the those most in need, because he was inspired by how the charity supports the wider community. He chose DAS because he has been impressed by how they care for those who come to them for support.

Cllr Roy Chamdal was elected as the Mayor of Hillingdon for the 21/22 Municipal Year at the Council Annual General meeting on Thursday.

Over the last year, Cllr Chamdal served as Deputy Mayor and since 2014, has served as a councillor for the Brunel Ward.

Cllr Chamdal replaces Cavendish Cllr Taji Barnes for who he congratulated as having "done a fantastic job in meeting residents and community groups" throughout the pandemic.

If you would like the Mayor to attend your activity, please call 01895 250763 or email mayor@hillingdon.gov.uk.
