Murder Investigation Underway Following Death in Hillingdon

Detectives have taken swift action in response to the tragic death of a 43-year-old man in Hillingdon.


Acting Detective Chief Inspector Rebecca Woodsford confirmed the launch of a murder investigation after the victim succumbed to injuries sustained in an assault in Uxbridge on the evening of Monday, 4 March saying, "I know this will be concerning to local residents; however, I want to reassure them and the man's family that we are working around the clock to establish what has happened".


A suspect was apprehended on Tuesday on suspicion of murder, marking a crucial development in the early stages of the investigation. Emphasizing the need for community cooperation, DCI Woodsford urged anyone with information or who may have witnessed anything unusual to come forward.


The incident unfolded on Dawley Avenue, where police responded to reports of an assault shortly before 8:10 pm on Monday, 4 March. The 43-year-old victim was swiftly transported to the hospital by the London Ambulance Service, where he tragically passed away. While the family has been informed, formal identification is pending.


On Tuesday, 5 March, an 18-year-old man was arrested in Derbyshire and remains in custody. The suspect is expected to be transferred to a London police station as the investigation progresses. A specialized post-mortem examination is scheduled for later this week to shed further light on the circumstances surrounding the death
