Man dies following altercation near to Eastcote underground station

A man has died following an altercation near to Eastcote London Underground station. The incident happened outside of Carpet World on Field End Road.

Officers from the Metropolitan Police were called to the scene by the London Ambulance Service shortly after 10.30pm on Sunday (January 10) following reports of the incident in Eastcote.

Medical staff from the London Ambulance Service attended to the injured man who was found unresponsive. Unfortunately medics could not save the man and it is reported he died at the scene.


Police were called by the London Ambulance Service whilst they were attending to the casualty.

A 21-year-old has been arrested in connection with the incident and is currently in police custody.

Police officers are continuing attempts to make contact with the deceased's next of kin. A crime scene remained in place for much of the day. The scene has since been cleared away by the Police and the pavement reopened.

The Metropolitan Police have launched an investigation into the incident and are asking members the public to help by providing them with any information they may have about the events that took place.
