MACABRE MUSICICIANS DELIGHT RESIDENTS. LOVE UXBRIDGE HALLOWEEN CELEBRATION EXTRAVAGANA 2022

Updated: May 8

Visitors to uxbridge high street where treated to a whole host of Halloween fun complete with macabre musicians, military hardware, and live zombie action.

The event set up by Love Uxbridge saw the high street filled with Halloween themed fun, a huge inflatable zombie assault course taking centre stage. Children and parents were greeted by a zombie drag queen character, many people were seen snapping selfies with a ghostbusters car and actors dressed as ghostbuster characters that were entertaining the crowds.

The event Run by Love Uxbridge is Supported by The Uxbridge Flower Stall and took place over a number of days and included a wide variety of games. One of the games involved firing foam brains into a giant wooden zombie’s mouth.

Kira Gibson from Love Uxbridge (Uxbridge BID partnership) told us a little about the event: “My team have been absolutely amazing, working tirelessly on site to prepare. I especially want to thank John who runs The Uxbridge Flower Stall, he has been amazing. John built all of the props for this and brought in the army truck as well as organising pumpkins for our pumpkin carving stall. Many local businesses have supported us to put on a: Zombie assault course, Pumpkin carving, a samba band and more, we all work together because we love it.

“We are always pleased when so many people come to enjoy the activities. The footfall in town has been amazing today, our goal is to provide activities for the community and support local business with increased footfall, hopefully we have achieved that today. Everyone should keep their eyes open for future events as it will soon be time for the Christmas light switch on and the start of our amazing Tinsel Town Market. Follow @loveuxbridge to keep up with the latest from Uxbridge Bid.”

The most popular attraction by far was a spooky samba band who played on the high street, before taking a slow march around the town in time to suitably spooky music played by the group. Members of the public who had formed large crowds could be heard asking for an encore as the macabre music came to and end, with hundreds gathered to watch the performance.

Attendees were also given the chance to attend a pumpkin carving workshop and make jack-o-lanterns of their own.
