Led by donkeys - or something worse?

Updated: Mar 23, 2021

I often hear people referring to criminals and anti-social types as psychopaths and sociopaths but hadn’t really been clear on what those words mean. Having done some googling, I’ve discovered that these two terms fall under the banner of something called Antisocial Personality Disorder.

What are the traits of a psychopath? They include: being cold hearted and calculating; having a sense of superiority; lacking a conscience, and the ability to empathise; and seeing others as objects to use for their own benefit.

They can be intelligent, even charming – and can use humour and their charisma to manipulate people for personal gain. But they don’t fear the consequences of their actions, nor learn from mistakes. In fact, their first thought when things go wrong is to blame others.

Does that remind you of anyone in government right now? I’d rather our country was led by people who want to make the UK a better place for all of its citizens – not just for the wealthy, those that wish to pay less tax, party donors, and chums of the current executive.

So I’ll just leave you with 2 questions

- How do our current cabinet members sleep at night?

- and are they all psychopaths?
