Harefield ram-raid - EXCLUSIVE FOOTAGE

Harefield residents where shocked to find the local Co-op food store utterly destroyed this morning, after a late night break in where thieves targeted the in store cash machine.



A member of Co-op staff can be seen carrying a very large chunk of wood, the chunk of wood appears to be the doorframe of the stores entrance
The storefront was badly damaged

The Co-op store was left destroyed following the ram raid targeting a cashpoint machine at the Co-Op store in Harefield earlier today.


It's believed thieves used a stolen red land rover, which was left at the scene.

Police were called to the incident at the Park Lane shop (Harefield High Street) at around 1.24am this morning (June 4th).



An eyewitness told us what happened "We where in bed [witness and partner] and there was a large bang, our windows shook and we weren't sure what was going on. I could hear an alarm sound and looked outside and saw a red car crashing into the shop below. It was an unexpected and scary experience. We haven't slept since and are very tired"

We spoke to the store manger who said his team where saddened by what had happened but would continue to work hard to clean up and re-open the store as soon as possible.

The Metropolitan Police issued a statement about the shocking incident saying:


"Police were called to High Street, Harefield, at 01.24hrs on Saturday, 4 June to reports of a burglary.

It was reported that a group of males had gained entry to a shop by reversing a red Land Rover discovery into the front. They left the scene in a dark Jaguar F-PACE. The Land Rover was left at the scene. There have been no arrests."
