London Assembly Candidates to have their Climate Credentials Questioned

Updated: Apr 14, 2021

Local Friends of the Earth groups are to host a Climate hustings for the Ealing and Hillingdon London Assembly candidates.

On 6 May 2021, Hillingdon residents will go to the polls to vote for the next Mayor of London and for future London Assembly Members, including the representative for the Ealing and Hillingdon constituency.

The London Assembly holds the Mayor to account on decisions that directly impact everyday life, from tackling air pollution, to improving public transport and creating more green space. For example, in 2019, members of the London Assembly successfully pushed the Mayor to bring his net zero target forward from 2050 to 2030.

To help local people better understand which constituency candidates have the ‘climate and environmental emergency on their agenda’, Ealing and Hillingdon Friends of the Earth groups have organised a Climate hustings to take place on Zoom on Wednesday 28 April from 7pm. Here candidates will get the opportunity to set out their climate credentials, and attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions.

Those who wish to attend should book a ticket here.
