The legendary Uxbridge site will come alive with thrilling events to celebrate the 80th anniversary of D-Day. Whether you're into live music, climbing walls, or learning about wartime secrets, there's something for everyone at this unmissable bash.

Visitors can dive into history with the permanent D-Day exhibition and a special pop-up 'D-Day 80' display featuring a detailed diorama of the famous beach landings. But it’s not just about looking back—there’s plenty of modern fun to be had, too.

Music lovers can enjoy a series of live performances on the mezzanine, with choirs, bands, and solo artists filling the air with melody throughout the weekend. For the little ones, a climbing wall in the picnic area offers a chance to scale new heights, while D-Day themed crafting sessions let kids get creative and learn about the past.

Adults won’t be left out, either. The famous Operations Room will host daily D-Day-themed tours, giving visitors a behind-the-scenes look at the bunker’s crucial role. For those who fancy themselves trivia buffs, aviation expert Joe Coles will challenge their knowledge in a themed pub quiz.

And if that’s not enough, a series of talks from expert authors will delve deeper into the stories and strategies that made D-Day a turning point in the Second World War.

Cllr Eddie Lavery, Hillingdon Council's Cabinet Member for Residents' Services, is thrilled about the upcoming events. "We're delighted to be offering a brilliant range of activities to mark this historic date at our unique venue. Young and old will find something of interest, and the fascinating 'D-Day 80' exhibition highlights the incredible logistics of this pivotal day and our borough's connection to it," he said.

Operation Overlord, known as D-Day, was the largest amphibious invasion in history, launching thousands of Allied troops onto the Normandy coast. This summer, the Battle of Britain Bunker invites you to relive this historic moment and enjoy a weekend of fun, learning, and community spirit.
