Co-op Supermarket, a brand well known across Hillingdon has removed a Russian brand from its shelves "As a sign of solidarity with the people of Ukraine.

Co-op recently announced the decision saying;

"In response to the ongoing invasion of Ukraine by Russian forces and as a sign of solidarity with the people of Ukraine, we have taken the decision to remove from sale Russian vodka."

Russian standard has been taken off of the shelf with immediate effect meaning customers can no longer pop in to the local Co-op and purchase the Russian Standard brand.

Co-op members and customers will be able to support the humanitarian response to help those displaced by the conflict by donating in store to the Disasters Emergency Committee appeal. The appeal begins on Thursday across all Co-op stores and Co-op is matching donations up to £100,000

The move takes place amid growing anger at escalating Russian aggression taking place in the Ukraine and across Europe.
