Major delays can be expected for those using the A40 after a police incident has closed the road.
There are lane closures in place after a member of the public drove into a stationary police vehicle.
The incident occurred at around 15.40hrs and the eastbound carriageway was closed as a result.
A Police statement said:
"Lane closures are in place on the A40 in Hillingdon, Western Avenue Eastbound , after a car driven by a member of the public collided with a stationary police vehicle at around 15:40hrs on Tuesday, 22 December."
The member of the public has been taken to hospital. No serious injuries to any officers.
Enquiries continue."
Anybody travelling should allow extra time or seek an alternative route.
